CodeRED is a service that enables municipalities to contact its citizens directly during an emergency situation and deliver specific instructions for how to deal effectively with emergency situations. This service has been used by other local governments to warn residents of natural disaster, hazardous spill situations, and public health notifications as well as to alert the public to missing persons.
13 local municipalities and townships, the MVCC CodeRED group, have subscribed to the service through the Miami Valley Communications Council. The CodeRED system uses GIS and database technologies and a high-speed dialer to allow public safety officials to select a population, create a message and deliver the message to the affected populace. This system quickly alerts the public to emergency situations that require immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices).
THIS SYSTEM WILL BE USED FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES ONLY

***CONSTRUCTION PROJECT*** Montgomery County Environmental Services will conduct repair work on a water line in the Miami Shores area of the City on April 22 . While there is no expected interruption to water service, we wanted to ensure residents were informed of the planned construction. Construction is expected to last 3-4 days. Residents may see a reduction in water pressure, but there is no need for a boil advisory if this happens. Also, the County is in constant communication with the our Fire Department, who is aware of this planned repair.
