PRESS RELEASE: The roof fire at Fuyao Glass America was the only part of the building that was on fire and posed no threats to the community at large; flare ups are continuing but are under control. We will have someone monitoring it all night.

Crews have entered the building multiple times to confirm that nothing inside the building was on fire and at one time due to an anonymous tip saying someone was inside the building live streaming.

We are rotating our crews to the best of our ability and have received mutual aid from Dayton, Kettering, MV Fire District, Springfield Box 27, Washington Twp, West Carrollton. We have recalled off duty fireman to cover the rest of the city.

Once the building has been deemed safe by a structural engineer, then the investigation process will begin to see what and where the fire started.

Throughout the incident Fuyao and other area businesses have been very cooperative.

PRESS RELEASE: The City of Moraine is still responding to an active structure fire at Fuyao Glass America that began at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.

First responders from Moraine and area Fire Departments are on-site and still working the scene.

US EPA On-Scene Coordinator, Andrew Kocher, has provided an air monitoring report to the City and stationary particulate monitors (PM 2.5) show averages of 9 ug/m3, 4 ug/m3, and 8 ug/m3; which it is well into the “Good” range.

PRESS RELEASE: City of Moraine Firefighters still working on Fuyao Glass America fire

The City of Moraine Fire Division is currently responding to a structure fire at Fuyao Glass America that began at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.

At this time, we can confirm no fire crews or employees were injured.

The scene is currently active. First responders from Moraine and area Fire Departments are on-site and working the scene.

Residents are urged to avoid the area and follow designated detours.
