City Hires Michael Davis as new City Manager
The Mayor and City Council voted on February 13, 2020, to appoint Michael Davis as the City’s next City Manager. He has been in the Acting role since March 2019.
According to Mayor Elaine Allison, “Although it is hard to find a great City Manager, we feel like we have found a hidden gem. Mike’s local government experience and leadership will help the City to move forward with the many important projects scheduled in our short and long-term future. On behalf of myself and City Council we welcome Mr. Davis to this new role.”
Davis has more than 24 years of experience in local government. Since 2000, he has served as the City of Moraine’s Economic Development Director. As Director he played a vital role in securing Fuyao Glass in the former General Motors site, has overseen the resurgence of the Dryden Road Corridor and has chaired numerous committees including 17 years of the regional Economic Development Summit.
Davis is excited about becoming Moraine’s next City Manager and leading the City into the future. He shared, “I look forward to working with City Council, City staff, as well as the citizens of our community to continue the City’s positive momentum within the region and thank Mayor Allison and the City Council for this opportunity.”
Davis has several professional credentials and holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from Wright State University. He has served on various boards and commissions in the area from the I-70/75 Development Association, Businessfirst, and the KMO Chamber of Commerce.
