City of Moraine Wins another award

The City of Moraine Finance Department has done it again. During this past Thursdays City Council Meeting the Acting Finance Director Lora Perry reported that the Finance team has received another award to add to their extensive collection.

For the 38th year in a row the City has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 2023 Financial statements.

“The City’s Finance Department awards and recognition shows the ongoing commitment to quality,” Moraine Mayor Teri Murphy said. “This continued excellence has real impacts on maintaining the City’s credit rating. I congratulate Lora and the team for these achievements.” Perry credits the team for achieving so many accolades and awards.

“This award is a symbol of the teamwork that it takes to operate City finances well,” she said. “There is daily work and attention to detail that trickles up into solid information that is then presented on our financial statements. I’m proud of the dedicated Finance Staff and their efforts every day.”

A point of pride with the award for the 2023 Financial Statements, Perry said, this is a testament to the training and efforts the department has made over the years to have solid procedures and be able to respond to a variety of challenges. These awards are more than just a plaque on the wall.
