Deer Meadow Pond Restocked
The 9-acre pond at Deer Meadow Park was restocked this year as part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program. In May, the pond was stocked with grass carp. In October, the pond was stocked with large mouth bass, hybrid blue gill, channel catfish, black crappie, and fathead minnows.
Fishing licenses are not required at this City-owned park but we do have a catch and release policy. Catch and release fishing improves fish populations by allowing more fish to remain and reproduce in the ecosystem. Releasing fish caught will help to ensure the enjoyment of this recreational opportunity will last for generations to come. In catch and release fishing, anglers immediately release fish – unharmed – back to the water where they are caught.
