Dayton Builders Exchange recognizes Moraine

Huge week for Moraine, City Manager Michaeal Davis and WinSupply Chairman Rick Schwartz were recognized by the Dayton Builders Exchange.

Moraine City Manager Mike Davis was named the Dayton Builders Exchange’s 2026 Outstanding Public Official. Davis received the prestigious award during DBX’s annual Team Building Night, which brings together members of the Greater Miami Valley construction industry to recognize the exceptional talent and leadership found throughout the Dayton region.

The Outstanding Public Official Award recognizes a public official who supports the construction industry through collaboration, fair regulations and responsiveness to the industry.

Davis has earned widespread recognition for his leadership in advancing Moraine’s economic redevelopment. Following the closure of the former General Motors assembly plant, he worked with local, regional, state and federal partners to help transform the property and attract significant new investment to the community.

Under Davis’s leadership, the City of Moraine has continued working to diversify its economy, attract new employers and support the growth of existing businesses.

In presenting the award, DBX commended Davis for his collaborative approach and commitment to economic development. His selection was endorsed by DBX member companies located in Moraine and was especially fitting as Winsupply also received the 2026 DBX Showcase Award for its expansion in the city. 

The Showcase Award recognized Schwartz and Winsupply for decades of leadership, innovation, and investment in the Dayton region. The award is not presented every year and is reserved for projects, organizations, or individuals whose contributions have made a lasting, positive impact on the community and enhanced the region’s reputation beyond the Miami Valley.

Founded in Dayton in 1956, Winsupply has grown into one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors serving the construction industry while maintaining its headquarters in the Miami Valley. Under Schwartz’s leadership, the company expanded into a nationwide network of more than 680 locally owned companies employing over 9,000 people and generating approximately $7.8 billion in annual sales.

Winsupply’s continued investment in the region—including the Richard W. Schwartz Center for Innovation—reflects its commitment to advancing technology, supporting entrepreneurship, and strengthening the Dayton-area economy.
