Full-Time Semi Skilled - May 14 - June 14 at 5:00p

Applications will be accepted Sunday May 14, 2017, through Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

Applicants must be a high school graduate (or GED), demonstrate good character and health, be at least 18 years of age and be physically capable of performing all essential functions of the position. Background and reference checks will be performed.

During the probationary period the contract begins at $18.08/hourly with annual step increases in accordance with the Union Contract. Benefits include: paid vacation, holiday, sick and injury leaves; comprehensive healthcare insurance plan; and life insurance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Selected applicant must obtain a Class B CDL within one-year of hire date.
  • Physically capable of performing all essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 100 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screen test.

Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores will be forwarded to the Moraine Merit System Commission who will be administering the testing process. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entrance exam will be ranked according to their score and placed on the Commission’s eligibility list. The City of Moraine will contact each candidate following the exam with their overall score and ranking.

Applicants considered for further processing will undergo interviews, criminal background, reference checks, medical exam, drug screen and other tests deemed necessary by the Street Superintendent.

Part-Time & Seasonal Recreation Monitors - until positions are filled

The City of Moraine Parks and Recreation is seeking staff members for its ongoing year around and summer seasonal programs. Qualified candidates must have experience in youth, senior, sports, nutritional, and/or fitness programming. Successful candidates must have exceptional interpersonal/customer service skills, effective verbal/written communication skills, willingness to work nights, evenings, weekends/holidays and the ability to handle stressful situations.

Recreation Monitors work under the general supervision of the Director of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Coordinator, Operations Manager and/or Recreation Supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with one or more years of recreation experience preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required. All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications preferred or must be obtained immediately after hire.

Part-Time Seasonal Laborer - until positions are filled

The City of Moraine Street/Parks Department is now accepting applications for (1) part-time Seasonal Laborer. Applications must be submitted on-line. The chosen applicant will be responsible for weed eating, mowing and light grounds maintenance. The pay for the part-time Seasonal Laborer is $8.35 per hour for a total of 28 hours per week. You must have a valid Ohio driver’s license to apply.

Part-Time Finance Clerk - until position is filled

General Office experience required. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of general office experience, possess good communication skills, customer service skills, data entry skills and demonstrate knowledge of general cash handling skills. Part-Time Firefighter

Part-time minimum requirements for employment are: Firefighter Level 1B, EMT-B Certification at time of hiring and must be be able to work platoon hours (every third day), 24 hrs per week.
