Summer Camp Counselor

Description

We are searching for energetic part-time camp counselors who will work roughly 20-29 hours per week from 8:30 am – 1 pm with excellent social skills, good attention to detail, and a passion for recreation. To be a successful camp counselor, you should demonstrate leadership skills, and a friendly, positive attitude.

A camp counselor is responsible for supervising campers ages 6-13 and keeping them safe. The Camp Counselor will perform a variety of tasks in a summer camp setting including recreational activities, arts and crafts, sports, games, and more.

Salary

Starting pay range: $11.99 – $13.88 per hour

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred. First Aid and CPR classes will be offered for candidates who are not already certified.
• Helps plan and lead daily camp activities.
• Enforces camp rules and regulations to ensure safety.
• Greets new arrivals and introduces them to other campers; explains camp and facility rules.
• Reports camper complaints to leadership and works to resolve issues.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required. All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
