Summer Camp Leader

Description

We are searching for an energetic part-time Camp Leader who will work roughly 20-29 hours per week from 8:00 am – 1:30 pm with superb social skills, good attention to detail, and a passion for recreation. Camp Leaders should feel comfortable supervising camp counselors, addressing large groups, interacting with children aged 6-13, and being able to make decisions under pressure. Other responsibilities include delegating tasks, educating campers about health and safety, planning activities, and improving the overall camp experience. Camp Leaders will assist in maintaining accurate program records, incident reports, and attendance records.

To be successful as a Camp Leader, you should demonstrate excellent leadership skills, and a friendly, positive attitude. Top candidates have a growth mindset, are team players, and possess stellar communication and deliberation skills.

Salary

Starting pay range: $14.57 – $16.07 per hour

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred. First Aid and CPR classes will be offered for candidates who are not already certified.
• Organizing groups and instructing campers.
• Assisting with a range of administrative duties.
• Assisting with conflict resolution.
• Ensuring campers learn in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment.
• Experience mentoring or supervising children.
• Good judgment and a strong moral and ethical code.
• Ability to act in stressful situations.
• Evidence of sound leadership skills.
• Multitasking abilities.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required. All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
