Moraine city manager identifies key area for growth and revitalization opportunity

In 2025, a regional city southwest of Dayton seeks to tackle a parks master plan, focused on aesthetics and connectivity.

Moraine City Manager Michael Davis delved into the latest in projects and plans for the new year.

What projects are you most looking forward to seeing move forward next year?

“City Council approved the city municipal building renovation project. This effort will get underway at the beginning of the new year and is projected to last eight to 10 months. The modernization project requires the temporary relocation of administrative staff and includes infrastructure efficiency upgrades, security improvements, office and department functionality upgrades, flooring replacement and exterior façade improvements.”

What projects do you have opening for bid in Q1 and Q2?

“The city will initiate our annual concrete paving and asphalt programs which continue to focus on roadway improvements.”

What are your plans for the downtown area next year? Any updates on major development plans?

“The city does not specifically have a designated downtown area however we are in the process of a parks master plan, which is taking an extensive look at our future investments in our parks.

The city also recently approved our new comprehensive plan which identified several future critical path strategies that include an emphasis on investments along Main Street and possible pedestrian enhancements to the bridge over I-75 and the Great Miami River which will create better aesthetic and connectivity to hopefully encourage additional private investment.”
