Montgomery County CNG Station Grand Opening

On July 27, the Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners along with IGS Energy Services, Setterlin and Clean Fuels Ohio held a grand opening event for the Montgomery County Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station in Moraine, Ohio. The site for the CNG station is located at 2750 Cardington Road along the SR-741 corridor and paves the way for future growth at the Montgomery County Solid Waste District.

“Our hope is that this station will help to drive economic growth, improve local air quality, and reduce our fleet fueling and maintenance costs,” said Montgomery County Commission President Judy Dodge. “In fact, we expect for the CNG station to pay for itself through our district’s fuel savings alone.”

Montgomery County has already begun converting its aging fleet to CNG-fueled vehicles, a process that will be completed over the next eight months. Converting the county’s vehicles to CNG will save almost $150,000 per year in fueling costs, will reduce lifetime vehicle maintenance costs, and improve air quality by reducing emissions.

“The Solid Waste District is also committed to investing in the economic future of the region and this fueling station is a true testament to that commitment,” said Dick Church, Mayor of the City of Miamisburg and President of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

The Montgomery County CNG fueling station is now open to the public. The station will help drive local economic development by making the cleaner, greener fuel available to the public and local businesses.
