Rotary making donations
The Moraine Rotary Club recently donated three park benches to the new one mile bike path located at Wax Park. The Rotary partnered with the Street Division who poured concrete pads for the benches. The benches were placed about 1/4 of a mile apart and give bikeway users an opportunity to rest or just sit and enjoy the park atmosphere. Funding for the benches was from a $2,000 Rotary District 6670 matching grant.
“Moraine Rotary was honored to donate the benches which are a nice addition for walkers, joggers and bikers to use while enjoying the beautiful park,” stated Moraine Rotary President Mike Moorhead. “I wish to thank Rotarian Julie Hoffman for her hard work on coordinating this project.”
Also, the Rotary Club donated 25 emergency displacement kits to Fire & Police Chaplain Dave Rodehaver to be given to victims who have been displaced from their houses by fire. These kits were a Rotary District 6670 project and are bags of toiletries and other essential items that will be useful for families recovering from their loss and are living in temporary locations.
